Pregnancy loss is common in the United States, however social stigma and misinformation can leave many without the necessary support. Individuals and couples may not know what to expect, or how to care for themselves or each other.
// THE WHY//
The risk of divorce increases up to 40% for those who don't get proper support. Meanwhile, those who feel supported by their partner and/or others before and after a pregnancy loss report less emotional distress.
// THE APPROACH //
Mya provides support for both individuals and couples going through pregnancy loss. A range of supportive tools - including virtual and in-person methods - allows the journey to be tailored for each user's needs.
Mya supported the community using a 2-step approach.
1) Providing immediate, ongoing, on-device support to the masses.
2) Freeing up non-profit centers for urgent care by reducing the number of calls that can be handled through app support systems.
// the RESULT //
Mya was presented to a panel of experts and was well-received for its ability to support the community and the NGO's current health needs. Several NGOs followed up looking for ways to leverage its model.
